Beefy Barley Soup

 1 lbs lean ground beef
8 oz diced mushrooms
4 diced celery stalks
3 diced carrots
3/4 cup diced onions
1/2 cup diced green peppers
2 tsp minced garlic
3/4 cup barley
1 cup lentils
2 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp  tomato paste
6-8 cups beef broth

Combine first 7 ingredients  in stock pot with 1/2 cup beef broth and saute until ground beef cooked.  Add remaining ingredients,  bring to boil, cover, and then simmer for 1 hour.
