Bread Machine Pizza
Ingredients for Pizza Dough:
1 2/3 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons dry milk
4 1/2 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons active yeast
Place ingredients in bread maker as listed above. I have used this recipe in several different bread machine models with success. Use either a Pizza Dough course if you have it or dough course.
Once cycle is complete, I allow dough to continue to rise until it starts to rise over sides of pan, which is normally another 20 minutes.
I divide the dough in half and place on a lightly floured surface. If you only want to make one pizza, you can place one dough ball in ziploc and either place in fridge for several days or freeze(have frozen for up to 2 months). To use place on a lightly floured surface and allow to thaw and rise.
Roll out dough into a circle to fit on a pizza pan. If you are able to toss it up in the air to stretch, go for it. I am not, and a rolling pin works just fine for me.
Place dough on a pizza pan sprinkled with corn meal.
Spread pizza sauce on crust. I use Ragu Pizza Sauce, because I like the spices, but there are others on the market. I use shredded mozzarella, oregano, and any toppings we crave. If you make pizza frequently, you may want to purchase pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni in bulk and divide up. We wanted just pepperoni and beef crumbles this night.
Bake in a preheated oven at 425. We normally make one pizza on a pizza stone and one on a metal pizza pan. We cook the pizza stone pizza for 18 minutes and the metal pan one for 14 minutes.
The slice on the left was cooked on the pizza stone and the other slice was cooked on the metal pan.
